Baeckea frutescens L. is a small tree reaching a height of up to 6 m. The bark is cracked and peeling, gray-brown, the branches are drooping, the branches are much branched, and brown. The leaves are arranged opposite or semi-opposite, needle-like and triangular in cross section, the base of the leaves is pointed, the veins are hidden or invisible, and the leaves are pale brown when dry. The flowers are axillary, arranged singly but sometimes appear in clusters due to the precipitation of twigs or branches, the pollen tubes are cup-shaped, and the flowers are creamy pink. The fruit is a capsule, pitcher-shaped, and reddish-brown when ripe.
Usage
Baeckea frutescens L. is used for herbal medicine, massage oil, controlling high blood pressure, and controlling blood glucose levels.
