Ginger is a herbaceous plant, which can reach a height of up to 1.5 m. It has a number of lateral shoots formed in a cluster. The flowers are yellowish green and stems are shorter than leaf petioles. The rhizome of ginger occurs horizontally and is laterally flattened (Medicinal Herbs & Plant Database 2010–2015).Usage
Ginger root is commonly used throughout the world as a flavour in foods. Apart from being an ingredient and spice in food preparation, ginger also has nutrients good for healthcare such as reducing dandruff problems (Kamaludin et al. 2013).
