Areca catechu L. is a palm, reaching a height of up to 20 m. The nodes on the stem are clearly visible, arranged at the terminal with 8-12 fronds. The leaves are fronds, shiny green, the fronds are curved inwards, the length of the leaves reaches up to 2 m, and has 30-50 leaflets. The flower clusters are branched, creamy white, fragrant. The fruit is ovoid, orange to red when ripe. The seeds are brown, ovoid and flattened at the tip.
Usage
Pinang is used for internal health care, maternal care after childbirth, massage oil ingredients, facilitating the childbirth process, relieving jaundice, hot fever, treating flatulence, vaginal discharge, worms, body itching, shingles, ringworm, scabies, promoting menstrual flow, treating gout, increasing inner energy, controlling high blood pressure, controlling blood glucose levels, and complementary treatment for breast tumor problems.
