Description

Aquilaria spp. is a slow-growing, medium-sized, straight-bole tree which can grow up to 40 m tall with bole up to 60 cm in diameter. The leaves are simple, spirally arranged, shiny and with acute tips and undulated margins. The tree bark is thin, pale gray and smooth.

Usage

Aquilaria spp. is widely used in medicine as venom repellent, dental pain, general pain reducer, in perfume and as incense raw material (Adelina et al. 2004). It is used for the treatment of pleurisy (Jayachandran et al. 2014).
